About Us

Playdays Nursery started in 2007 and since then has earned a great reputation for offering top quality and flexible childcare.

Our nurseries currently operate from three sites; South Woodford, Farnborough and Blindley Heath, all our settings are Ofsted registered and inspected. Each has either received a judgement of Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. Each nursery is led by a qualified and experienced manager, who are supported by having a highly qualified, motivated and dedicated team.

At Playdays we understand how important it is to make sure that you choose the right nursery for you and your child. This is why you will always be guaranteed a warm welcome from our friendly and experienced team. Our nurseries provide a warm, safe, happy and stimulating environment where each child is respected as an individual, they are encouraged and supported to reach their full potential, through the nurture, praise and support that the highly qualified practitioners offer.

The nurseries provide all children that attend endless opportunities to learn and develop through their imagination, creativity and play, while making sure that all parent/carers have complete peace of mind from knowing that their child(ren) couldn’t be in a better environment.

Extra Curricular Activities

ZooLab works with nurseries, creating a fun learning environment. ZooLab rangers and animals are skilled at doing just this gaining the immediate interest of children, exciting their curiosity and covering many subject areas within the national curriculum. ZooLab is a great vehicle too for delivering interdisciplinary learning.

Theatrebugs facilitates magical story based classes in drama, music and dance for 3 months -7 years in nurseries, schools and children's centres. Their structures compliment Key Stage 1 and all six areas of the EYFS. They increase confidence, boost self esteem and nurture imagination. Through fun filled, engaging activities Theatrebugs encourages communication, observation, problem solving, thought sharing and decision making!

Tatty Bumpkin classes are fun, yoga-inspired stories designed to encourage movement and enhance development in babies and children 6 weeks - 7 years. Baby Bumpkin classes are for babies 0-2 years and Tatty Bumpkin 2-7 years.
Older children can also be accommodated. The sessions focus on the 'well-being' of both child and parent, giving a firm foundation for social, emotional and physical confidence - all required for future happiness and success. All Tatty Bumpkin sessions are aligned to the Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years) curriculum, and have been developed by physiotherapists, educationalists, yoga-teachers for a unique, fun, developmental concept.

A specially designed holistic health and fitness programme for pre-school children from the age of 3 years up to 7 years in the form of a weekly class conducted weekly by a fully trained Stretch-n-Grow instructor. A measured amount of exercise in every class taught. Underpinned by science, there is a structure and format to their lesson plans and supports strong links to Early years Curriculum such as the EYFS and Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland

Our Team

Although a nursery may have a fantastic location and beautiful resources, it is the quality and dedication of the practitioners who care for the children that make it outstanding.

All our settings only employ highly dedicated and desirable practitioners, who thrive to provide outstanding care and education to all children. All our practitioners undergo rigorous checks before starting at the settings, this includes completing a DBS check.

We believe that you can never have too many qualified practitioners and so we encourage and support all our practitioners in striving to achieve the highest qualification they can.

In early years everything is changing all the time. Therefore, our nurseries ensure that all practitioners attend additional training courses to guarantee that their knowledge remains up to date and relevant, so that we can provide the best quality care and practice that we can.

All our practitioners are paediatric first aid trained, all are aware of health and safety and food hygiene.
