About Us

Playdays Nursery first opened in 2007 and has matured into a loving nurturing environment where children can grow and have fun whilst learning and inspiring their growing imagination, through creativity and play. Playdays Nurseries already have an established reputation for offering exemplary facilities and childcare, with flexible choices for parents.

It is crucial to make sure you choose the right nursery for your child: To ensure we are your preferred choice our staff are highly organised, hold the relevant mandatory qualifications and also as important have the acquired the character traits loved by children: warmth, honesty, empathy, patience and a great deal of understanding.

We have a child friendly dedicated facility. Children have the opportunity to go outside in our secure areas, play in the sandpit, make pies in our outside pretend kitchen and even do a spot of gardening!

The safety and welfare of all our children is of paramount importance to us. We ensure a very robust & strict security procedure is in place that ensures your child remains safe at all times.

Only the main carer or approved person can collect your child from the nursery. All external doors are locked and no child can wonder out without a member of staff.

There’s also a 24 hour CCTV system set up throughout the premises.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Your child will encounter many milestones in their learning journey which are recorded and communicated to parents using a software called ‘Tapestry’ (an online journal which records your child’s progress through this mountain of information). Parents are given access and can log in to check the progress of their child and obtain an understanding of how your child is developing. Both practitioners and parents can share details of work completed, pictures of outings, observations throughout the day and much more - keeping you truly up to date with the progress of your child.

The requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2012 and Development Matters Foundation Stage, are worked and fulfilled within our nursery. Our members of staff observe, assess, plan, develop and implement a range of learning experiences for each child, which is dependent on their age and stage of development. The professionals teaching and supporting your child will make sure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs.

At Playdays Nursery, we work towards promoting British Values; encouraging children to work as a team, understand each others boundaries with each other, decision making, yet have mutual respect for others as individuals, no matter their gender, culture, religion or disability.

Our Ethos

Safe Environment

Playdays is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment, offering high quality provisions and experiences where all children learn through play with the support of dedicated and highly qualified practitioners. Through our provisions we aim to meet the diverse needs of our local communities and offer outstanding care to all children.

Key Staff Allocation

Every child that attends a Playdays setting will be allocated a key person who will monitor the progress of their individual children and provide appropriate support so that they can reach their full potential.

Dedicated Carers

In order to offer the best settings we seek to provide a welcoming, friendly, dedicated and highly qualified workforce, where practitioners share knowledge with each other which enables them to support parent/carers effectively and work alongside other professionals to guarantee that all children are enjoying and developing within every area of their development.

Child Welfare & Development

At Playdays every child's welfare, development and best interests are of paramount importance to us and therefore each child and family will be considered, treated and respected on an individual basis. At Playdays, we understand that meeting the needs of all the children in our care is a shared responsibility and that in most cases the parent/carer and family are of central importance to the well-being of the child. Therefore, Playdays will always listen to the feelings, views and/or wishes of the parent/carer to ensure that the child's needs are being met consistently between their home and nursery environment.

Positive Planning

At Playdays we see every child as an individual and so their experiences along with the environment and resources available will be carefully and regularly planned for to promote positive learning and development, making sure that all children are provided with a wide range of experiences and activities that provide a balanced and diverse curriculum. Through looking at the individual child and the whole team approach (holistic), opportunities exist for the practitioners to have early identification of any concerns regarding a child’s development.

Playdays Menu

Our nurseries understand that snack and meal times are a very important social event within a child’s day, these times allow children and staff to eat together so that the staff are positive role models for the children, encouraging them to taste the different foods and to promote positive eating habits and table manners. We believe that by offering the children a varied diet, it supports children to experience and enjoy new flavours and textures, therefore providing children with the everyday confidence they need to try new things.

All of our nurseries take great pride and care to ensure that all children get the correct nutrition through a variety of tasty foods. Every setting provides an inclusive service where our fees include providing the children with breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea depending on the child’s time of attendance.

Most of our nurseries, due to their facilities, use a company called Zebedees Lunchbox and Nursery Catering Company. These companys specialise in catering for children’s meals. If you would like further information, then please call one of our nurseries or you can visit their website www.zebedees.co.uk , www.nurserycateringcompany.com . Please let the nurseries know if your child has a special dietary need, so that the practitioners can make sure that their individual requirements are catered for.

All settings review and change their menus termly so that we can provide a diverse range of foods for our children and to encourage them to taste different flavours and foods from around the world.

All our staff prepare highly nutritional meals and hold the relevant Food Hygiene Certificates.

Menus for each setting are displayed within the nursery on their menu boards.
